Food Drive at Tigard Farmers Market this Sunday

food drive summer

With more than 87,000 households (15%) in Oregon suffering from hunger, the Tigard Farmers Market is working to bring awareness and support to low income and low access households.  With Tigard’s population of over 50,000, that means we could have 7,500 community members not having enough to eat.  It could be a neighbor, a friend or a co-worker.  Join us in helping others through a food drive on Sunday July 26, 2015 benefiting Tualatin Valley Gleaners.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Sunday at our Downtown Tigard location (8777 SW Burnham), customers and community members can drop off donations at the food drive booth. The Tualatin Valley Gleaners wish list includes fresh and local produce as well as canned, boxed and bagged food items.  Pet and personal supplies are also needed and cash donations are welcome.

Push the easy button and while shopping at the market, pick up a couple extra bunches of produce and donate them to the food drive. Can’t make it Sunday, then consider donating to their cause on their website at http://www.tualatinvalleygleaners.org/wish-list-and-needs.  There are numerous ways you can contribute from cash donations (tax deductible), vehicle donations, gas cards and more.
